Have you created a list of I AM declarations? Some people call them self-affirmations or positive self-talk. Whatever you call them, do you have a list? Do you read them out-loud? How often? Once a day, twice a day, once a week, once a month? Do you repeat them to yourself while walking, driving, working-out, eating, or while meditating? Maybe you should.

Creating I AM declarations is a very powerful exercise. We constantly talk to ourselves. If you are struggling or you feel “off,” you can often turn your feelings around with a review of some positive I AM declarations. Occasionally you may find yourself subconsciously saying nonsense like “I am not worthy” or “I’m not good enough” or “I can’t.”

Stop it.

As a child of God, you are worthy and deserve the absolute best in life. You have to know it and feel it within yourself for it to become reality. Change your internal self-talk and you will change your external circumstances

Create Your Positive I AM Declarations

Creating your positive I AM declarations is a very easy process. Get a blank sheet of paper and a good pen, stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye and say “I am _________.” Write it down. Look at yourself again, and say “I am ___________.” Write it down. Repeat this process for at least 15 minutes. Set the list aside for at least 24 hours. Then pick it up again and review your list. If there is anything negative or limiting at all, cross it out furiously. I mean, really put some angry, disgusted fervor in removing it from your list. Make sure it is completely blacked out so that you cannot read it anymore.

How to Use Your Positive I AM Declarations

Now that you have a list of positive I AM declarations, you need to use them. Read them out-loud. Say them with enthusiasm. Jump for joy if you feel it. Pump your arms like Rocky at the top of the steps. Other positive I AM statements will start to come to you. WRITE THEM DOWN! Repeat your list as many times as feels right. Do this exercise 2 or 3 times a day and you will notice that your mood improves, your patience with others increases, your breathing deepens, and you will start to feel lighter and more energized.
